HMS are proud to be included on the OFTEC register.
But what does this mean for the consumer ?

A brief description is shown below,
but for a full report visit the OFTEC web site by clicking on the OFTEC logo above
OFTEC is the Oil Firing Technical Association. It is an independent body authorised by the office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) to register businesses working with oli-fired equipment.
OFTEC helps registered businesses to maintain safety standards throughout the industry
From April 1st 2005, it is a requirement for all oil fired installations and commissioning works carried out under the Building Regulations in England and Wales to be reported to the Local Authority Building Control Department.
Registered businesses can self-certify their work by notifying OFTEC, who will then notify the relevent Local Authority Building Control Department
A requirement of OFTEC registration is all registered technicians must have bee assessed, tested and hold a valid OFTEC certificate of competence in the areas of oil work carried out.
Certificates are valid for 5 years, after whick re-accessment and re-certification is necessary
Oil Safety - Techinical experts are available who can advise OFTEC registered installers about standards, regulation and answer technical oil safety queries.
A consimer information service - Consimers can contact OFTEC to find their local registeed oil installer, or investigate complaints where a lack of technical competance is a consern.
